Finally Deleting Door Dash
A month ago an unauthorized charge for $89 was made to one of my credit cards by door dash. I didn't make the order and the card had never been used by me online...
Mysterious but I called and disputed the charge. If came off. Unfortunately they were unable to tell me who had stolen my card and used it or how... Had to instead cancel the card altogether.
A few days ago I had an order cancelled without explanation or a call -- not a huge deal...
But it was twenty minutes into the wait. Not a great impression.
Tonight I received an order late, missing one of the two total items and with the other missing nearly every ingredient. Their solution was to offer me a $6.50 refund. That order cost $21 and went straight in the trash...
The fees are insane.
The service is worse every day.
The company preys in restaurants, drivers and the communities they serve.
I deleted the app so I won't be tempted. I can drive myself to the restaurant and get my own food or order a pizza.

Being charged for something I didn't use.

Doordash has alot to offer & they are expanding often, but having lots of options doesn't help if the people making the deliveries aren't doing their job correctly.
I stay in an apt complex & I work from home. I'm not in walking distance from most restaurants & I don't have a car, so I rely on doordash for my meals & that's why I pay for the dash pash.
I've had dashers leave my food in other buildings with no phone call or text, I was called a *** by a dasher because he left my food in the wrong building & didn't call to confirm & I complained. I've had deliveries where I was supposed to sign to get my food & the dasher has either left it in the wrong building or in the lobby of my building with no signature, which is confusing to me. I've had my food left outside on the steps & in the lobby by the main entrance out in the open of my building with no phone call or text & not even an attempt to come to my door. I complain to customer service & sometimes I will get a refund but when it requires a signature & the dasher refuses to do their job & I don't get my food, I'm not qualified for a refund or reorder which is unfair to the customer & then I'm out of my food & money & doordash doesn't care.
Some of the dashers are rude, lazy & inconsiderate & reporting them half the time doesn't do anything. Most of them feel entitled to a tip & will refuse to do their job correctly if they don't receive one. Tipping is optional & since most dashers don't complete the job correctly I refuse to tip in advance. Doordash has removed the option to tip after delivery.
I might get a refund or reorder but it's the inconvenience & unprofessionlism that's a problem. Doordash needs to start holding the dashers more accountable.

During the Pandemic spent thousands on restaurant food deliveries through Door Dash. in the beginning I was pretty pleased with them.
I had a couple of issues, incorrect food, missing items, which they credited me promptly. The order prior to this I had my work address instead of my home. My mistake. I drove the 15 minutes to work because they wouldn't deliver to my house.
Got to my work. No order. Asked for a picture of delivery. Couldn't provide one.
Was told that they would only credit me a portion. Total was $122.93 which I asked to be credited to my card. Credit was issued after numerous requests of $92.16 only for Door Dash purchases. On 7/4/22, I had an order of $66.77 which my credit was applied.
Leaving me a credit of $25.42. On 7/8/22 on had an order if $45.08 less the credit of $25.42. I paid $19.66 on my card. When the order arrived, I didn't see the Door Dash driver.
They left it outside on the sidewalk. The order wasn't even mine.
I contacted Door Dash and was told they would not be crediting me at all. The reason given was "At this time, due to the details that has been reviewed along with the information I gathered in our system, we're currently unable to extend compensation." Does this mean that if Door Dash makes enough mistakes, they will stop crediting you for their mistakes?
