I had specifically requested to not include certain ingredients that I am allergic to and also requested to keep the sauce aside for the same reasons. In spite of that, the order that got delivered had all the ingredients mixed up.

I also had a *** or two of it, my allergies kicked in.

This is not the first time it has happened when an order has been messed up. These guys have no idea what it means to be allergic to certain foods. Even a little of the allergens is too much for someone like me.

It's dangerous! When you call support, all they do at times is refund a small portion of the amount, as if they are doing me a favor. They also tend to blame the restaurants. As a customer of DoorDash, it doesn't matter whether restaurant messed up things or not, I expect DoorDash to take responsibility.

It's their order form that has the info and they need to make sure the right food gets delivered. I would not be this mad if they get me the wrong dish or order one time, but repeatedly messing the orders and particularly for someone like me with allergies, it's important that DoorDash takes this seriously.

If this continues this way, I am pretty sure they are not going to last long. I really want to escalate this!

Reason of review: Food delivered had ingredients I am allergic to, in spite of my requesting to not include the and keep some items separate.

Preferred solution: Penalize doordash for causing trauma.

DoorDash Pros: Delivery rep, Choice of restaurants.

DoorDash Cons: Food safety.

Shame on you for blaming Doordash, you do realize DoorDash has ZERO control of what happens in the restaurant and what comes out, right? (I mean itโ€™s not their business for starters...

) the only thing the DRIVER can do is ask if everything is there, the restaurant made the food so they should know. If youโ€™re suggesting the driver goes through the food to see for themselves? Well... thatโ€™s illegal.

So now you know and can stop blaming innocent hardworking people. :)

Shouldn't you check what you're delivering? It's something I do, most people ask for food to be delivered with special changes due to being anxious of talking to people and asking for it to be corrected.

This is where DoorDash should step in, but they don't. They won't even replace the missing orders.

Agree with you. Drivers are not aloud to touch the food.

It is sealed in a bag with with tape. Even if a driver asks the restaurant any questions and the restaurant says everything is done correctly.

Thereโ€™s nothing else that can be done on the door dash side or driver side. It is 100% the restaurants fault for making it wrong.

THIS IS HOW THE RESTAURANTS WILL KNOW TO CALL EITHER YOU OR US TO HAVE IT SUBBED OUT!!! WE TAKE ALLERGIES VERY SERIOUSLY AT DD, WE ARE NOT A BUSINESS WHO WANTS TO KILL THEIR CUSTOMERS....I CANT SAY THIS ENOUGH....ALLERGIES NEED NEED NEED TO BE PUT INTO THE SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!!

In our experience restaurants never see the special instructions. I have been told by several restaurants that it doesnโ€™t print on their receipt and can confirm it doesnโ€™t print on the consumer or the drivers either. We just had an issue with this last night and Iโ€™m hoping the credit we received isnโ€™t dinged against our drivers tip because itโ€™s technically door dashes fault not the person picking up and delivering

To the first person who wrote the comment below who so confidently thinks it's the restaurant's issue and not door dash, you seem to assuming that DoorDash has forwarded the allergy info and request correctly to the restaurant. That part of the process is not visible to the customer.

If a restaurant does not do home delivery and one wants to use DoorDash delivery service for the same, it is expected and required that DoorDash take the responsibility to ensure the order is correct. They may have to set up the right processes / tools in place to do so.

All the customer wants is the right order, it particularly becomes more important when someone has an allergy. DoorDash charges for this delivery service and it is only fair for them to ensure they deliver on what they promise.

I ordered it through the DoorDash website explaining what I want along with the allergy info - what not to add and what to keep separate. I am using DoorDash service for them to work with the restaurants they are engaging with to ensure I am getting the right order, not talking to the restaurant directly (that's the whole point of the DoorDash service and I am paying for it).

It's Doordash service's responsibility whether they or the restaurant make a mistake. When I say delivery, to make it clear, I am not blaming the delivery person, I am disappointed with the Doordash business.

If at all you go through this experience, you'll know what I mean. You must surely be a DoorDash rep for saying what you did.

You do understand that the dashers aren't allowed to open up the food and check right? I don't understand how you can blame the delivery for messing up your order when they aren't the ones who made it.

They go over the order with someone from the restaurant.

They don't make the food.

Door Dash likely owes a duty of care to the purchaser of the food. I have problems where they fail to deliver the items ordered, and instead deliver a similar item that actually includes an allergen, that i did not notify them of because it should not have been included. Wendy's chicken sandwiches are like this, as I am alergic to a spicy chicken sandwich but not a homestyle.
